Manassas, Va. – December 11, 2025 – 1Aardvark, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and HUBZone-certified company delivering resilient mission systems for space and missile defense, today announced it has been awarded a $1.93 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Direct-to-Phase II contract by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
The Missile Defense Agency continues to streamline the SBIR process by awarding Direct-to-Phase II contracts that accelerate transition of mature, high-impact technologies directly into prototype development and delivery. This approach enables rapid fielding of innovative solutions to counter evolving threats and strengthens the defense industrial base through small-business agility.
Under contract HQ0860-25-C-E020, 1Aardvark will develop and deliver an advanced Left of Launch prototype application that detects and disrupts adversary missile activities prior to launch. The resulting early-warning intelligence will integrate directly into the Missile Defense System’s Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) framework and other national defense systems, providing decision-makers with earlier and more reliable indications of emerging threats.
1Aardvark has teamed with fellow SDVOSBs AstroNetix, LLC and SimianTek, LLC, assembling a veteran-led team with decades of operational experience in space, missile defense, intelligence, and distributed mission systems.
The 18-month effort leverages 1Aardvark’s fielded expertise in edge-resilient data processing, high-assurance distributed systems, and rapid integration with C2BMC – technologies already trusted across multiple DoW programs of record.
